It’s Spring Cleaning season once again. So what is it? Spring cleaning is the practice of cleaning a house thoroughly in the spring season. The practice of spring cleaning is particularly common in cold winter climates. This is the perfect time to deep clean your house.
We’re here to give you some quick and easy spring cleaning tips. Let’s get started.
Pick up and remove the clutter in all rooms before you start cleaning. As you declutter, prepare a few boxes for sorting. Separate your stuff to be tossed, donated, or kept. Just keep the stuff that’s really important so you won’t build another batch of clutter again.
Get Rid of Odors
Put a bowl of baking soda where the smell is bad and let it sit there for a few days. If the odors persist, sprinkle some baking soda on and around the area. Vacuum the remaining baking soda once all smells are gone.
Dust with A Dryer Sheet
Dryer sheets collect dust. Go around your home and dust away! Bonus: Using scented dryer sheets will also leave your home spelling like a fresh batch of laundry.
Refresh Mattress with Baking Soda
Clean up your mattress with baking soda at least twice a year. Doing this will help lengthen the life of your mattress as you don’t have to worry about moisture gathering and turning it into a mold.
Use the baking soda to refresh, deodorize, and moisturize your mattress. Sprinkle your mattress with baking soda and spend it out. Make sure the majority of your bed is covered. Due to the moisture, the baking soda may turn into a paste. Wait until the baking soda is dry before attempting to vacuum it. Bonus: Mix a few drops of essential oils in the baking soda before applying it to your bed.
Wash Your Windows
Typically, water and microfiber cloth clean windows more effectively than chemicals. Otherwise, make your own glass cleaner solution with 1/4 cup of rubbing alcohol, 1/3 cup of vinegar, and distilled water.
